In April 2020, our founders — with backgrounds in senior communication, phone outreach programs and nonprofit management — were deeply concerned about the pandemic's effect on the elderly. Shelter-in-place requirements brought profound isolation and devastating health outcomes. So they put their heads together, gathered some compassionate volunteers... and Friendly Voices was born.
Today our research-backed mission is just as critical. Loneliness is a crisis for our elderly population, and the consequences can be dire. Weekly phone conversation helps seniors to know they haven't been forgotten.
Friendly Voices is funded by a generous grant from the Joseph & Vera Long Foundation and by individual donors.
